How To Repair Galaxy 4 Sd/sim Card

This guide is for replacing the SIM/Micro SD reader on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.

Some advice before you start

Recommended repair kit

Step 1

Before replacing the SIM/MicroSD card reader of your Galaxy S4 Active, you have to turn it off for safety reasons.

To do so, press the power button for a few seconds (on the right of the phone) and then click on "Turn off".

Step 2

Insert a nylon spudger and lift the rear case of the Galaxy S4 Active.

Once lifted, you can grab and remove it entirely.

The rear case of your Galaxy S4 is now disassembled.

Step 3

Use the nylon spudger to lift the battery.

Once lifted, remove the battery.

The battery of the Galaxy S4 Active is now disassembled.

Step 4

With the flat end of the nylon spudger, push the SIM card in order to take it off its socket.

Grab a pair of tweezers and remove it.

Step 5

The SIM card of your Galaxy S4 Active is now removed.

Step 6

Repeat that same step with the MicroSD card.

Remove it with a pair of tweezers.

Step 7

The microSD card of your Galaxy S4 Active is now removed.

Step 8

With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the 8 screws securing the frame to the LCD.

those screws are circled in red.

Step 9

Remove the .

To do this, use an iSesamo and pry to remove its bracket.

Do the same for the other 4 brackets

Step 10

The brackets are now disassembled.

Remove the four screws circled in red.

Step 11

Insert the iSesamo between the frame and the LCD of your Galaxy S4 Active.

Then side the spudger toward the bottom of the phone as shown on the pictures and unclip the frame.

Step 12

Grab the frame and remove it.

Attention : the frame is probably strongly attached to the screen by a watertightness seal. Use a little bit more force.

Step 13

Use the nylon spudger to disconnect the SIM/Micro SD reader cable.

Step 14

Insert the nylon spudger under the MicroSD/SIM reader to peel it off as shown on the pictures..

You can now remove it.

Step 15

The SIM/MicroSD reader of your Galaxy S4 Active is now disassembled.

You can replace it with a new one if needed.
